Shelby,
How do I begin to tell you how much you mean to me? In my eyes, a year ago today, an angel was born. I can't describe the joy and happiness you bring to my life. Your smile makes my heart leap and your sweet personality makes me melt. You make my life complete. There are so many things that make you happy...
You love your brother, Logan. Every morning when you wake up he yells, "Shelby Belles," and runs and gives you a hug. When you get excited you start kicking your feet; every morning i get you out of bed this is your ritual... always happy, see mommy, lay on your tummy, start kicking like crazy because you can't hold your happiness in. You love any and every food I have ever fed you. Your crooked smile is intoxicating especially because you always have a smile. Everyone that knows you can't help but love you because you are just so stinkin' cute. You have your daddy in the palm of your hand, actually, you have both of your parents in the palm of your hand. I can't imagine my life without you and I will forever be grateful that I am blessed to have such an angel as my daughter.

Prayer...

Earlier this week i was out running errands with the kids. I unlocked the car, got the kids in the car and then, like i do many times, couldn't find where i put my keys after i unlocked the car. As I was searching i thought...hmmm... this could be a good teaching opportunity for Logan. In conference this past week i was reminded that i need to be a much better mom and i need to teach my kids about the gospel even more starting today. So... I said, "Logan, Mom can't find her keys, let's say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to help mom remember where she put her keys." We said a prayer, I looked around and there they were.

A few days later the same situation happened. As I was looking around for my keys Logan said, "mom we need to say a prayer to find them." Yeah!- my child is listening to me.I am sure we would have found them eventually,but I was wanting to teach a gospel principal so we prayed and we found them again. Right after we found them, "Logan said, mom we need to say a prayer to find my keys." This is when I kind of panicked. Logan had some "cars" keys that have been lost for months. I really gave up on finding them because I was sure they were probably stashed somewhere never to be found again. But, we said the prayer. Right after the prayer, "Logan said, mom, it didn't work." I said, "maybe we can go home and look for them and heavenly father can help us remember where you put them last." But, Logan needed to call nana immediately and tell her that he couldn't find his keys anywhere and he prayed and it didn't work. So, we called nana. Logan said to her in a sad tone, "Nana, i can't find my keys they's is lost. I said a prayer and it duhdn't work." Nana, then to my surprise said- Oh, I found your keys at my house this morning. Logan then said, "mom it worked- nana found my keys." Um... ok, these keys were lost people. I had zero faith that we would ever find them and thus, my teaching methods had gone down the drain. But, apparently I was the one that needed to learn a lesson. Logan does understand what I am teaching him and he has way more faith than i do. When i came home and told bry what happened he said, " we need to start having him pray for more things." Seriously, what a great lesson i learned by teaching my amazing child the power of prayer.

A little getaway to St George turned into passing the stomach flu so generously from one family member to the next. Shelby was throwing up a little before we left, but I didn't think it was the stomach flu... babies puke sometimes right? We drove to St. George Wednesday night. Thursday night I was barfing, Friday late afternoon Bry was barfing, and Friday night Logan was barfing. No fun. We went down to relax and hang out with Liv and Jess and we didn't even see them the whole time we were there so as to not pass it on to them. Either way, I still love that my parents and the Nordhoff's have houses down in St George so we can have a little weekend whenever we want. I did find a couple hours to go shopping when I wasn't barfing and found some adorable "prima ballerina" gymmies from gymboree for Shelby for $3.99. So, I considered this trip successful. The morning after Bry was throwing up he got up early to go golfing and I came out to see this on the counter. Seriously, barfing does suck and I have a funny hubby.

I bought St. Patrick's day outfits for my kids this year. Yes, people, it is dangerous having a girl. I didn't want to wait to put them in these outfits so we got dressed up and had a little pictures taking session.

Shelby is growing up as fast. She loves playing peek-a-boo, standing wherever she can, and playing with Logan. She has a little spit fire attitude now, which I love… nothing like her mom right? She is pretty much in charge around here. I am starting to plan her first year birthday party already. Time flies.
Logan is staying busy and asks every morning to call his nana and if she isn’t’ available, then he wants to call papa. He is a funny little guy and thinks it is so fun to make Shelby and I laugh.

Bry had to go on a scout camp this weekend. I am so proud of my hubby for fulfilling his calling like he does, but I HATE when he is not home at night. I don't sleep. Every sound starts my heart racing and so I stay up doing things like laundry and watching TV. After Logan had fallen asleep I was folding a load of laundry and Shelby was still awake with me. She kept seeing Logan and crawling into his room. I finally gave up on carrying her out and just let her go. She crawled in and talked to him while he was sleeping for like 10 minutes. It was the sweetest thing. Every night when I pray it overwhelms me how grateful I am to be a mom to these amazing kids.

Shelby is all over the place now! I am loving this stage. She is constantly finding little things on the floor to eat which is making me keep my house cleaner. She loves crawling under this stool and hanging out. She is in her happy place when she is standing. And the smiles just keep coming.

Logan is into finding solutions to problems. Example: Today he couldn't reach his fire truck and he said, "I know, I will get the stool and get it." Every solution is proceeded by "I know." So cute. He also likes to do things "all by myself." We are completely potty trained (YEAH!) and he loves to go potty by himself, wash his own hands etc.

I can't find my phone anywhere... It is somewhere in the house and somehow it turned off so calling it is not helping. This morning I asked Logan if he knew where it was and he said no, but immediately put it upon himself to help me find it. He put on his "spotting scope" to see if he could help me find it and has searched high and low throughout the house. As we were trying to find it he said, "Mom, maybe the holy ghost took it!" I love children!

P.S. Shelby has RSV and bronchiolitis. It seems like Logan has been sick the entire winter. Poor kid just can't catch a break. My little Shelby Angel had been a rock star and hadn't gotten anything yet. Logan has had a cold for a few days and so generously shared it with his sister. Shelby got it a whole lot worse though. I have never seen her so miserable and it just breaks my heart that I can't do anything for her. I told the doctor I feel like a bad mom because my kids just keep getting sick. She reassured me that it is everywhere in the air and we have just been extremely unlucky! Yeah! For my close friends... I'll give you a call when my kids won't infect your children. That's why we haven't hung out in awhile.

Yep... that's how old my hubby is today. I just love this great guy I have. He takes such great care of our family and loves us all with his whole heart. When I was single looking for a husband I was looking for a guy that was: spiritually amazing, intelligent, independent, attractive, athletic, kind, outgoing, funny, and fabulous with kids. Triple check on all of the above babe! Happy Birthday! I love you!

Logan had his "show day" for his last day in his little gym class. He has learned so much this semester and I have loved watching how excited he has been every week. We had daddy come so Logan could show off. He didn't do a whole lot for the show... he pretty much just ran around the whole time- but it was still a special day for him. Daddy came and he got a certificate at the end which he was super excited about!

lets talk about this face for a minute. I told Logan to smile and this is the smile I got! I was laughing so hard- Love this kid!

Bry's birthday is next Friday and he has to go to youth conference (P.S. Bry is now the YM President. Such an awesome guy I have!) So, we went to St. George for a couple days last weekend so he could do a little golfing. He even had a lesson from the Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf at The Ledges. He was only able to do one of his lessons because the weather was crappy- but he really enjoyed it!

We were able to go to the indoor pool a few times and eat at yummy places. With Bry and I doing weight watchers we had to save up our points so we could eat at one fun place each day we were there.

The New Year...

So far 2010 has been pretty uneventful which is a welcome relief for us. We are all healthy and we want it to stay that way. Bry and I have started weight watchers and are doing well on it. It's nice having support when you are achieving a goal. When I feel weak for a chocolate chocolate doughnut I just tell Bry and he helps me remember what our end goal is. Just a couple pics to make this post interesting...

Logan is growing up too fast. He is so skinny and is starting to get taller. Bry and I hope this will continue because we were both not blessed with grand height-especially me. He loves dinosaurs and is obsessed with watching Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs. He loves playing with his daddy and gets so excited every time he comes home. We are trying to potty train right now and have been for a couple months- kind of a challenge and I have cleaned up way more than my share of messes. He also has quite a sense of humor and loves to make all of us laugh especially Shelby.

Shelby is one little flexible girl. I hope she got my genes and it stays that way becuase I find her stretching in the splits and in straddle all the time... I'm so proud :) This little angel never ceases to amaze me on how perfect she is. She has turned into a little mama's girl at the moment and cries whenever I leave the room, but no one can put her to bed like dad can. She is a little mover and can get from A to B way to fast.

Well this has been an interesting holiday season. We have spent it in and out of the doctor's office and hospital with Logan. He had one thing after another- croup, throwing up, headache, soar throat, eye infection. Just one thing after another and this whole time he was running a temperature usually of 103 every day. This temp lasted for 12 days. With all of these symptoms and especially the long and high fever they ran test after test on this poor kid and couldn't come up with a prognosis. They started looking at scary things like Kawasaki's disease (attacks the heart and can cause a heart attack in a child), and leukemia. Ahhgg!!! The past 3 days he hasn't had a fever and he has been acting pretty normal so we think we are in the clear and they said it was probably just a long stream of virus'. Wow!!!

So, we have been quarantined in our house for over 2 weeks now and just at the perfect time- during the holidays. And to top it all off Shelby got sick on Christmas eve with a stuffy nose, nasty cough, and sore throat! My poor children weren't able to be with any family the whole Christmas time, unless there were not children around. We still had a great holiday at our house. Santa came and brought dinosaur mountain and cars and Logan couldn't have been any happier. As he came down the stairs on Christmas morning he said, " are those for me."

New years was the same quarantine situation so we had pizza and a movie and did our own little celebration. Shelby LOVED the celebration poppers and laughed every time there was a loud bang.

Overall, it was an interesting holiday! Even though it was kind of crazy I am just so grateful to have my children healthy again. I feel so blessed to have them in my life.

I haven't blogged yet about our Anniversary! Bry and I switch off every year on who is in charge of our Anniversary and it was my year. So.... I flew him to Denver to watch a Broncos game because he has always wanted to go to an NFL game. We stayed at the Ritz (if you haven't stayed at one you need to put it on a list of things to do in your life.) We were able to get tickets by all the players families on the 8th row!!! (thanks amber.) After the game we got a family pass and went on to the field and took a couple pictures.Then we waited outside the locker room for the players to come out and was able to meet some of them. It was a fabulous and much needed getaway and I pretty much was on the nice list in my husband's book!

We visited Santa this year at the festival of trees. This has been the greatest year because Logan understands everything now. He knows that he wants "Dinosaur Mountain" (had to do black Friday door buster for that one) and "the king" from CARS because he has pretty much every other car. Every time we even talk about Santa he says " and he bring me dinosaur mountain and cars the king." P.S. I love being a mom.

Shelby is getting ready to crawl now!!! Ahhgg!!! She is growing up tooooo fast! I seriously can't get enough of her excitement and energy!!!

As most of you know I have been working on a tree for the festival of trees this past year. We have been doing this tree in honor of my daughter Alexa who was delivered on October 8, 2003. I also had a friend that had a daughter still born last March so I asked her if she wanted to do it with me. I can't even tell what this experience meant to me. The tree turned out perfect- I've had a vision in my head of what I wanted it to be and it turned out even better. The experience was surreal. The people we met and the feeling on decorating day was so amazing. Everyone has a story behind their tree and they all want to share it with others who have stories of loved ones they have lost. Thank you to all of you who helped make this so perfect! Especially to my amazing mom and sister, Steph. I really couldn't have done this without them! Go and see the tree- it is on row B entitled "Breath of Heaven." Our tree was on KSL last night too!!!

6 Years!!!

Wow... I guess time flies when you are having fun right? Today Bry and I are celebrating our 6th anniversary. It hasn't always been butterflies and fairytales, but I couldn't be happier with any other person. I truly found the perfect man for me. He helps me strive to be who I want to be. The other day I was listening to the radio and the new song by Martina McBride came on "I just call you mine." I literally started balling in the car because that's how I feel about my husband.

3 years old...

How do you begin to talk about something you are so grateful for it makes you cry every time you think about it? Well… That’s how I feel about my little buddy. Logan turned 3 yesterday and I know mom’s always say they can’t believe how fast their children are growing up, but Logan seriously has grown up so much over the past year. He is such a little boy now and I love it. He loves playing sports with his daddy, especially baseball and golf. He is one picky eater but when he gets what he wants he is so excited. He loves his little sister- “Shelby Belles” and is concerned about her all the time. He gets excited about the smallest things and finds joy in being active and being with his friends. He is so smart and loves watching shows where he learns new things. He loves his nana. He is obsessed with Dinosaurs and Transformers. He loves pretending like he is a superhero (especially a transformer or spider man.) He brings so much joy into my life. Hearing “I Love You Mom” every night is seriously the greatest thing a mom could ask for. Logan is so loving and loves to be by mommy. He will come and sit by me and just lay his head on my shoulder or hold my hand. I love my angel boy so much and am so grateful to have him in my life.

For Logan's birthday this week he has had 3 days of fun. Wednesday night we went to the McDonald's play place for dinner with our little family and then to Walmart where he could pick and toy he wanted. He went straight to the transformers but decided to get a couple little cars instead. (P.S. I'm trying out being a brunette right now if you didn't notice. Thursday was his actual Birthday and he was with just mommy during the day. We went to the Little Gym, the Dinosaur Museum, and to lunch together. On Thursday night he was with just daddy and they went to Café Rio, worked in the garage, played some video games, and watched Transformers. Tonight (Friday) we had a Birthday part with his little friends at the Aquarium. He absolutely loved it and loved having all his friends come and play with him. Thank you for everyone that was able to come!

Here are some of the other pictures we have taken lately… I got Shelby's hair in a tiny pony tail. Halloween was fabulous. Logan actually understood it this year and loved being spider man and trick-or-treating. Shelby had 2 outfits. Inside she was a ballerina and outside she was the cutest lady bug ever. We had my family over Halloween night which was really nice!

P.S. I looked in Shelby’s mouth today and found her 2 bottom teeth poking out. Who knew she was teething??? Not me, because she is seriously the best baby ever!

We had our family pictures taken when we got Shelby's baby picture taken.. I am finally now posting them. We got them taken at Peekaboo Photo's who did Logan's photo shoot when he was a baby. They do such a great job! I love me children!

A few other things that have been happening...
We went to Mantua just with our little family for our first family "vacation." We only went up for 1 night and it was just perfect. We stayed in a little pop-up trailer which Logan absolutely loved. Logan's favorite part was fishing with daddy!

Bry went hunting last week with his dad and brothers and got an Elk, which he is really excited about. I had to post a picture even though I don't really like dead animals on my blog, my hubby would want this documented. So here you go babe!

I didn't want to stay home by myself all week while Bry was hunting so I went up to St. George with my parents and sister and relaxed there. Logan loves being in St. George at Nana & Papa's house. He is obsessed with dinosaurs right now so he wanted to take some pictures with his dinosaur friends.

Shelby is growing up so fast, and she is still just as sweet as ever. She is rolling over now and gets stuck on her stomach and gets so frustrated (Shelby style, as in just a small yell) I love this little angel so much.

We went to Gardner Village with Logan's little friends and Logan rode on a horse all by himself! He has the cutest friends ever!

Here is our morning ritual picture that Logan likes to take with Shelby Belle. He asks to hold Shelby and then tells me to "take a picture mom" So we are usually in our pajamas when these pictures take place, but I love it.

Alexa's birthday was yesterday and it really has gotten easier for me as time has gone by. Of course tears were shed and I miss her greatly, but yesterday a lot of my tears were just because I am so grateful to have the children I have. I seriously couldn't be more blessed than with the children I have. People always say you will never know a mother's love until you are a mother and that is so true. When we were at Alexa’s grave yesterday Logan looked at me and said “mom I want to hugs you.” I picked him up and he put his head on my shoulder and just squeezed me the whole time we were there. Seriously? Children are so intuitive. I am so grateful to be a mom to Alexa, Logan, and Shelby.

As most of you know our angel Alexa was stillborn on her due date 4 years ago this October. Every year in her honor we do a service project in her name. This year, along with a friend of mine that had a stillborn baby this year, we are decorating a tree for the festival of trees. I have wanted to do this for a couple of years and this year it is finally happening. We have actually already been working on it for almost a year now. If anyone would like to donate to helping make our booth fabulous I would love it. Just contact me by phone or email if you would like to help. If not, that is great, but make sure to look for our tree if you go to the festival this year. The name and theme of the tree is “Breath of Heaven.” I am already so excited with how everything is turning out and I want to thank everyone who has already helped out.

We went up Mount Nebo loop last week… it was beautiful. Rides like this I affectionately call “Bryan rides.” He has seriously been everywhere in the valley and he takes me on these little excursions. We ended at this adorable little lake where we had lunch and Logan fed the ducks. We actually might go camping up there with our little family.

Every other year we go on an adult only vacation with the Nordhoff family. This year we made it short and sweet and went to Zermatt resort in Heber. What a fabulous little place. We went to the spa, sat at the pool and ate great food. It was a nice needed little getaway with my hubby. In the rooms they had water that you could buy and it was $7. Bry just couldn’t help himself and had to buy it to see what this $7 water tasted like.

Logan is trying to go on a napping strike like I said in my last post. Usually on those days this is what happens at dinner time…

Summer Lovin...

I am sure most of you already know about these, but they have these adorable splash pad parks that are so perfect for kids. My cousin, Aubrie, and her little girl Haylie went with us a couple weeks ago. Hailey is Logan's age and they play so cute together. They had a blast running around together holding hands and pretending like they were frogs.

We bought a membership to the Dinosaur Museum because Logan is obsessed with dinosaurs. He likes the triceratops the most. My mom and dad came with us and my dad was just as excited about everything as Logan was.

My amazing sister, Steph, graduated from BYU last week. She is seriously the coolest person I know. I really want to be her some day. Way to go sis. Shelby and I went down for the occasion. It was nice having Shelby there to entertain us and all those around us during the graduation talks.

The pool is a weekly outing for us. My parents and Bry’s parents are members at Willowcreek so that is usually where we end up. Logan is getting used to his new life jacket because he is in a bigger size this year. It is so sad to see them grow out of things! We also went to Flaming Gorge… I didn’t ever have my camera around so when I get some I will put those on too. Like most kids Logan is obsessed with fries to so he loves to sit in the sun and eat after he has worked hard in the pool.

Logan loves taking pictures in the chair with Shelby and asks me to take them all the time- this was one of our morning pictures. He is so cute with Shelby (most of the time) and loves to give her hugs and play with her toys with her.

Logan is trying to decide he is done with napping… help! So one Sunday Bry was in charge of Logan and I put Shelby down for a nap and myself down for a nap. I came downstairs to see Bry out cold on the couch and Logan asleep sitting up in the other couch. How cute are these boys of mine!

3 months old

My little sweetness is 3 months old today and I am so incredibly grateful for this little joy. She laughs and smiles on cue any time you want her to. She is babbling like crazy now and is so loud just like her mommy. And.... she slept till 8:30 this morning... enough said!

A couple nights ago I was putting Logan to bed and we were singing our songs together. He looked at me and whispered. "I Love You Mommy." Um, I just about broke down. Seriously children? Could you get any cuter? I just love these kids of mine.

Last weekend we went to a Birthday Party for Logan’s friend, Hallie. It was at Murray Park and the kids had a blast playing all the great games Michelle had planned. Logan could not stay away from the cake and cupcakes and was so excited as soon as he got one. When he thinks something is yummy he says “delicious” now and we heard that many times while he was eating his cupcake. Thanks Magic’s for a great party!

Logan went to a pirate princess party for his little friend, Annie. He was so excited to get in his pirate costume, but he did not want to take pictures. He walked around all day saying Arhh, Maytie . It was such a cute little party and Annie was the cutest little princess ever.

My little Shelby Belle is growing so fast. I seriously couldn’t ask for a better little girl. She started laughing a week ago and smiles all the time right on cue. I seriously can’t get enough of this little angel. Thank you Syd for the Cute outfit.

We went to the zoo on the 4^th of July with my family. We thought it was going to be crowded but we got there right when it opened and it was perfect. It was overcast too, so it really was a fabulous little outing. The animals were so active too. We also went to Willowcreek where they had a little carnival. Logan loved going around on the train they had and actually sat still to get his face painted. At night we had a BBQ at matt and Jess’s which was a perfect ending to a fabulous day.

Logan loves playing with his little cousin Livy. They both love the water so we just throw them outside in their swimsuits and let them have at it. Shelby of course just hangs out with us in the shade and is as happy as could be.

My hubby and Logan are obsessed with golfing together so we went golfing for FHE last week. At Pebblebrook they let us all out on the course on one golf cart. It was really a blast. I didn’t do too bad myself either.

Logan is obsessed with anything that is Daddy’s. He loves getting in his top drawer were Bryan keeps all the miscellaneous things that wind up in his pocket. This is a constant battle, and he knows he is not supposed to get into the drawer, but he just can’t help himself. Yesterday I was feeding Shelby and walked in to see that Logan had found some little piece of pink chalk and decided to draw a picture all over our dresser. It was really nice of him, and yes, we finally moved the drawer to a higher drawer.

All, in all, just loving being a mom and feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I lost my camera for a couple weeks so here is what has been going on the past few weeks...

We moved Logan into his big boy bed about a month ago. He finally decided he was ready. It was kind of hard for me because he is growing up so fast. He does need to take toys in his bed with him though. He picks a toy each night to take to bed with him. At the beginning it seemed like we had the whole toy box in his bed. Love this kid!

Logan and his cousin Liv are like brother and sister. They are the best of friends, they fight, and... they are a bad influence on each other at times. At my in-laws house we walked in on this mess they were making. It was harmless so it was pretty funny.

We went to "UP" a couple weeks ago and Logan loved it of course. He loves Disney movies. I then went to one of my mom's Enrichment nights and they had tons of balloons so we took some home to Logan. He was so excited and was trying to fly away with his bunch of balloons. Logan is so creative already and it is fun to see how his imagination works. He likes acting like a dinosaur right now. Bry went out of town and brought him back a toy dinosaur and he has been obsessed with dinosaurs ever since.

She is turning into a little chunky monkey.... I love her rolls. She is such a good little baby. She is looking more and more like Logan every day. It is a blast having a little girl. Where do I even begin to explain what an amazing day it was today. I seriously feel so blessed right now. First of all I have the most beautiful daughter a mother could ask for. I have been awaiting the birth of a daughter for over 3 years now and my time is finally here. It is incredible to see how the Lord really knows what is best for you. I appreciate having her here more than words can explain. In Sacrament meeting the opening song was "I Believe in Christ and I didn't even get through the first few notes before I started balling because I am so grateful to have her. She started smiling a couple days ago and that sweet little smile really just makes my heart sore.

Here are more of my blessings I am grateful for:

- An amazing husband who honors his priesthood and loves his family more than anything. It is so adorable to see a big macho man like my hubby melt for "the sweetness" and "Logi"

- An adorable and vivacious little boy who loves to be with his mommy and give me hugs during the day. When we are out and about he never forgets to make sure mom is around and during the day he often comes to me and says "i wanna hugs you." Wow! Count your blessings.

-My fabulous family!!! My mom and sister, Steph, came over the day before the blessing to cook, clean and decorate with me. We Andrus women don't know how to throw a small party and they helped me make this day everything I wanted it to be. Bryan and I are both so lucky to be so close to our families.

- FRIENDS!!! Here is your shout out. I really got a lesson this week in what it means to be a true friend. The first person I need to say something to is Michelle...seriously? Enough said there! Jen and Kat- sorry for trying to burn your houses down and Jen I am sorry if I gave you a kidney stone. Jess, Syd, Kristen, Kristie... aren't we the luckiest girls in the world to know we always have the support of amazing women that we can call our best friends.

I realize this is the longest blog ever but I am just oh so grateful today and couldn't hold it all in. My amazing brother and sister-in-law let me use their camera for this day and I took 130 pictures so prepare for some awesome pictures. We spent most of last week in St. George with my family. It was such a nice little getaway and I felt like we grew even closer as a family. We had a lot of fun activities planned. We spent a large amount of time at the pool, which Logan LOVED of course. We also went to the park and played baseball and my multi-talented hubby took us fishing. We all had a dinner we were in charge of and for our dinner we went to the new Pirate Pizza place which was a nice change to the normal Pizza Factory visit. Shelby (the sweetness), as you can see, spent most of her time just sleeping and being adorable. Thanks fam! Love you guys!

Well, here she is. My talented lil sis, Steph, took some pictures last week of Shelby and Logan. Here they are! Life is crazy adjusting to 2 children. We pretty much shower and eat during the day and that's all we get done so far. Shelby is a great baby, but it is still hard not sleeping and then needing to take care of an active 2 year old all day. BUT... I wouldn't have it any other way! I love being a mom!

Hey everyone, this is Jess, filling in for Britt, and I just wanted to let everyone know that sweet Shelby is here!! She was born April 22 and everything went wonderfully! She weighs 6 lbs 12 ounces and is GORGEOUS!!! I was able to be in right after and what an amazing feeling was in that room .... miracle baby! Bed Rest

Well, I knew it was inevitable with my special history of pregnancy, but I am officially on bed rest now. On Monday I got a betemethazine shot to help develop the babies lungs early. The only side effect to this shot is that your blood sugar increases a lot. Well, the reason this is a problem is because I was already borderline with having gestational diabetes. So, I had to start testing my blood. Well on Monday night I tested it and it was way to high. I wanted to do a kick count for the baby because she hadn't been moving that well, but because my blood sugar was too high I couldn't have any juice to make the baby get moving into action.

So I called the hospital and they said to come in. Well, as soon as I went in I actually went into labor. I was in labor from 9:00pm until 6:45am. I know the exact time because that is when I finally fell asleep. After we were able to stop it I was dialated to a 3. Well, They made me stay there for the whole next day to watch the contractions and my blood sugar. Tuesday night I started contracting again, but we were able to stop it in an hour. There are more boring details, but to cut the story I am now home on bedrest with bathroom priviliges. "Privileges" thanks doc! I am just taking medication to help my blood sugar and the contractions for another week and a half and then he will just let the baby come if she decides its time. So... if you are bored I am home, lets hang out!

I am on the verge of going insane from being pregnant. I am so grateful to be pregnant, don't get me wrong, but it gets harder and harder with each pregnancy. If you are one of those women that feel amazing your whole pregnancy you can just stop reading my blog because we are no longer friends.

There has not been too many exciting things that have happened lately, mostly because I don't have the energy to make anything happen. Logan and I go to the aquarium at least once a week and I consider that a great accomplishment right now.

When Lord of the Dance was in town I took my parents and my cute Grandpa to see it. Why you might ask? Well my grandpa has always wanted me to join River Dance, so when I heard they were coming here I had to take him. I asked Bry if this was cool and he said he would pay for everyone and for dinner if he didn't have to go. Well, it was amazing and my grandpa hasn't stopped talking about it. Thanks Babe.

We have also been going to a couple Flash games because my beautiful sister, Natalie, dances for them. Logan loves going because he gets popcorn.

I also have an adorable friend, Jenn, that gave me a baby shower. It was the cutest baby shower ever! She is just one of those people who is good at doing cute things like this. I feel pretty special having such a talented friend... especially one that is willing to throw parties for me. Thanks Jen!

One other thing that I have been loving lately, no thanks to you Erin, is the D.I. Erin has the cutest dressed children in our ward. Well, one night we got to talking and she told me she bought almost all of her clothes at the D. I. So I decided to go and try it out, it was so fun. I don't think it is for everyone, but if you are a bargain shopper and you don't mind going through racks I highly recommend it. I haven't ventured anywhere but the kids section, but I have found some pretty amazing stuff that might have been worn a couple times. Just bring it home and send it through my 3 hour "stain wash" cycle and vwhala... you have name brand amazing clothes for dirt cheap. I actually don't know if this is a good thing that I am loving this because I can see how I could be obsessive... either way, thanks Erin for the revelation.

As I have been thinking about this birthday I wanted him to know how much I loved and appreciated him so I thought of 30 things that I love about him. 1- How much Logan worships him and wants to be exactly like him.

4- How much he loves talking about his mission and how much he knows about the gospel.

5- How he can fix or build ANYTHING!

15- How tough he is…. So if he cries I absolutely lose it. I can count on one hand how many times he has cried since we have been married and each time it has meant the world to me.

17- How he is such a good driver. (Once again, I always feel safe with him) He can pull, back up, and drive anything. One of his dream jobs is to be a stunt car driver.

20- How contagious his laugh is and how me laughs at all my stupid jokes.

Zoo Lights

As I said below, Bry was M.I.A on New Year's Eve because he went to the sugar bowl. Logan and I weren't going to let that ruin our night so we went to zoo lights with my family and then to my brothers house to play games, watch movies, and eat good food. Zoo lights was cold, but so fun. We are probably going to go every year now! My sis, steph is came to help me with my blog today. I learned how to do these collages. Look at me now... no hands!

I realize I fell off the blogging world. After I posted the last news I became well acquainted with the toilet for the next 3 months. I was extremely sick with Alexa as well. Turns out we have a pattern… it’s a Girl. We are all really excited and Logan is starting to understanding there is a baby in moms belly. So there hasn’t been much to blog about lately either because I have just been trying to take care of a toddler and myself. Now that I am feeling better things are looking more positive. For Halloween Logan was the cutest pirate in the history of pirates. In November we had Logan’s Birthday party which turned out great. We also have been sledding and had our first Christmas that Logan understood what presents were. He is on a lightning McQueen kick so that was the present he was most excited about. That is a quick synopsis. I can’t promise that I will be a fabulous blogger now, but
won’t wait 4 months to post again.

Logan would like to let you all know that he is going to be a big brother. We are so excited and yet, as always, extremely nervous. We will be induced probably sometime around the end of April? Date night...
Bry was cute and got a babysitter and took me out to see Batman right when it came out. It was nice getting dressed up like a normal person, instead of my every day t-shirt and sweat shorts.

24th of July was great with friends.
We went to Liberty Park... interesting place... and watched the fireworks. Logan wasn't very cooperative, until the fireworks started. He was determined to get lost. But he loved the fireworks!!!

Here are the boys and the little children before we took our little walk to Liberty park. We went with the Magics, the Lofgrens, and the Morgans. These are Bryan's friends from High School, but let me tell you... you would think that the girls were my friends from high school. We are so close. How lucky am I that Bry's friends have the coolest wives in the world!?! Love you guys!

Yes, I finished and yes I am happy with the outcome. I wasn't crazy reading it like I was the other 3. Probably because I was in the hospital (to come later) but I still really loved it.

At Sconecutter before we went to the crazy night. We used to do this in High School all the time late at night so we thought it would be fun to reminisce.

Finally 1:30 we got our books. Thanks Kristen... so much fun having a fellow crazed Twilighter!!!

Last but certainly NOT least... e-coli.
Are you kidding me? It all started with a really high fever last Tuesday. Other than the fever was acting fine so we didn't think anything of it. On Wednesday he still had a fever, he lost his appetite, and the diarehha started. Thursday was about the same as Wednesday and then Friday hit. Can we all hear a 20 diaper shout out??? Ya? My poor little guy was in so much pain and he had bloddy diarrhea. This was the day we went to the hospital first. Tons of tests and a bag of fluid later they sent us home. On Saturday they called us and said, " You need to come back in, the tests came back that he has a bacteria and it is really dangerous." Bry gave him a blessing and we headed to the hospital. Well it turned out that bacteria was the worst form of e-coli you can get. So we took even more tests... my poor baby. Yes, I broke down a couple times watching them take some of these tests. And then they admited us because things were not looking good. They told us worst case scenario, he could be put on dialysis. Excuse me??? Pretty sure we have already been through our child trauma for the rest of our lives, are we really going through this? Apparently with E-coli they can't give these little ones any antibiotics because it can lead to HUS which is a kidney disease. That is what they were watching him so closely for in the hospital.

Well the little man and his little body fought and we were released 4 days later. He didn't eat for almost a whole weak so he lost about 2 pounds. We came back home and he is getting better and better every day. His appetite is back and has already hit his pre-hospital weight. We are still not out of the woods yet though because this HUS can come on 2 weeks after the diarrhea starts so we have until next Wednesday to feel totally sure that he is fine. All the nurses and doctors loved him, even though he hated every single one of them. One of his nurses was a friend from high school, which was really reassuring to me. With Logan the more binki's the better. They all thought this was so cute.

Yeah! Finally eating something...fries, but that was the only thing he wanted. What Logan wants, Logan gets. That has been my motto for the past week.

Exhausted again. So many tests... He was in so much pain too. The pain medication they gave him was Lora tab. That was the kind of pain he was in. I think I feel another break down coming on... give me a minute

Logan loved when daddy was with us. I did too. He is such a rock and always sees a bigger perspective on things. I love my men!!!

So you may be asking, Where in the world did he get e-coli??? Believe me, we have been wondering the same thing. He is a self-proclaimed vegetarian at the moment so we know it wasn't from meat. The health inspection department called me and tried to help me figure it out and our only conclusion is BEAR LAKE. My little sister came home from our Bear Lake trip and got ghiarrdeah(sp) and most of us haven't felt real great ever since we came home so that is our only conclusion. So the picture below is now the worst picture ever because me little guy was ingesting e-coli instead of just blowing bubbles???

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the phone calls, fasting, and prayers that went out for our little guy. I know that this is the reason we are home today.

Home at last...
We are home now and Logan helped me make some pancakes this morning. For all the parents out there. There is nothing worse than seeing your child in pain. I am so glad we are home better now!!!

Bear Lake!!!

We just got back from Bear Lake last night with my mom's entire extended family.. It was an interesting vacation. We had a wonderful time, except our little buddy, who is normally happy, had a little bit of a hard time. It all started at Wendy’s when we stopped on the way to Bear Lake for a little lunch. I snapped a shot of the first of many tantrums that were thrown on our little va-cay.

Once we got there he HATED the sand he didn’t like the feel of it on his feet so he kept them straight up in the air when we tried to put him down. When we finally got him down he had to have his feet on one of Bry’s flip-flops so his feet were not touching the sand.

This is a picture of when I asked Bryan to get Logan ready to go to the pool. He let him chill naked and read books.

He was a fabulous little guy when we were on the boat, at the swimming pool or at the park throwing rocks. He also loved LeBue’s Raspberry shakes and fries. One night we did skits and my grandma and grandpa had glow sticks for all the little kids. Logan had a blast with these.

Logan learned how to Blow bubbles recently so he does it all the time in the pool. It is so cute.

Needless to say I was so excited to get my camera back that I went a little crazy with the pictures. I just kept snapping them. Well I snapped this cool picture of Logan looking at his reflection. I love digital cameras because you can just take and take and take until you get the right one and then just delete.

The trip ended with Logan breaking out in hives all over his face and body. It was so sad. I was too busy trying to take care of him that I didn’t take a picture. We were going to go to the pool again but we decided then that it was time to come home. All-in-all it was a fun vacation and we are glad we went.

I don’t know anything that makes me happier than seeing my two guys play together. This past week every day Bry has come home he has come in and told Logan to get his golf clubs. They go out to the back yard and play golf together. This is really the sweetest thing to see in the whole world. Logan just picks his club right up and runs to the back door. Whenever Logan hears the garage door go up he yells out “Daddy” and stops whatever he is doing. He runs to the top of the stairs and waits patiently until Bry comes in sight. He loves his daddy so much and it is so fun to see them together. I would say watching this proves that my life is really above par.

Wow! Doesn't get cuter than this little guy. The sun bleached his hair even more blond when we were in Lake Powell... I love it!

I just got my camera back today and I am so excited. I just wish I would have had it for all the vacations we have already been on. Guess this means I am going to have to go on more vacations right? We are actually going to Bear Lake this Saturday until next Tuesday and I am excited about that. Logan loves the water so it will be fun to get some pictures of him on the beach. I just wish I could have gotten some in Lake Powell with him last week. He was a trooper and just loved the water. He went on the tube with me a couple times too and he was saying “weeee” while we were going. He is going to be a little daredevil just like his dad. While in Powell I went wakeboarding for the first time in 3 summers because I have been pregnant the past few summers. I didn’t do too bad, which surprised me because I am not in “pre-baby” shape yet. Bry, of course was fabulous and hot on the wakeboard and he jumped off entirely too high cliffs. We had a great time and it was a great little get-away for our little family.

Let me just start out by telling you how much more you appreciate a camera when you don’t have one that works. I haven’t posted in forever because it has been a ridiculous journey trying to get our camera fixed. The hoops you have to go through to send in the camera with all the documents etc. Wow! They really make it as miserable as possible so that you will decide to just give up and buy a new one. Well, not me. The past 2 camera’s we have bought have broken within a year so I am going to wait it out until they send it back. When that happens, you will all be bombarded with pictures again because I will be so excited to be able to capture the exciting moments that Logan fills my day with.

We have had so many fun things happen since I blogged last. I haven’t blogged forever, once again, because I don’t have pictures and what fun is a post without a picture? As soon as I get any pictures from others that have taken them, you will see them. Until, then… bear with the boring blog. You poor people even missed pictures of my birthday… We will work on that for next year J

I just got a few pictures from Jess from when we were in Zions and Bryce. We didn’t get very many, again, because we didn’t have a camera. It was so beautiful though. I wish I could have taken more. We got a back-pack with a leash for Logan. It was a little monkey so it looked like he had a monkey on his back the whole time we were hiking. He did so awesome when we were hiking though. Well I am finally back from all of our vacations. We first went to St.George with my family and did the usual down there... golfing, shopping, swimming. It was a nice to be with my whole family. Then Logan and I went with my sis Natalie, her boyfriend Derek, and my parents to visit my other sister, Steph in California. She is living there with her cute hubby Aaron for the summer. We had a blast down there. We went to an Angels baseball game, Disneyland, shopping. The best part was going to WICKED on Broadway though. WOW! I was obsessed immediately. It was the most amazing show. I never heard what it was about before we went so I went in with no expectation and came out in awe! I can't stop listening to the music. I heard that it will be coming to Utah and I have to go! Here are some pictures from the above 2 vacations.

We stayed at this fun resort called Zions, Ponderosa. They had a really fun pool there with a slide and waterfall. We were able to make s'mores on one night which are one of my favorite things. I get entertained by simple things. This was a fun vacation and it was especially fun having Jess with me. It is so fun having one of your best friends as your sister. These pictures will have to follow. Our camera is broken so we had to have other people take pictures while we were on our vacations. Getting a new camera is on my long list of things to do now that I am back.

I just had to post this picture of Logan with his cute friend Hallie. We watched the Jazz game together last week and had the two of them kiss. Logan does the open mouth-stick out the tongue kiss right now. It is so adorable. Hallie was very candid too, closing her eyes as Logan went in for the kill. I love my little guy!

So Mother’s Day is both hard and rewarding for me. I love that I have my little Logan more than anything, but it is also hard that I am not able to hold my Alexa. It does get easier as the years go by, but the pain never goes away. Logan keeps me busy enough though so I admire all of you that are mothers of multiple children. For those of you who have little boys, I will say this again... isn't it the best having a little buddy?!? Here are just a few recent pictures of my little boy that show his personality.

Muddy Monday!

We had our first mud playing experience; the first of I am sure many more to come. Logan is lucky enough to have two friends next door, Isaac and Beckham. We often just hang out in the backyard together. This past Monday they made mud and a huge mess. We just let them play because they were having so much fun. Logan and Beckham tried to eat the mud multiple times so I got some funny pictures of that too. I love having a little boy. They are so fun!

This weekend we hung out with our friends and watched the Jazz game. Well, actually the boys watched the game and we watched the kids and talked. It reminded me of that Tostitas commercial where the mom’s get together to hang out and they say their little babies really enjoy it so they need to do it more often. That is us. We even took pictures of the little ones so they could remember how much fun they had together. Thanks for having us over Jess!

On Sunday we ate at my parents house because my little sis and one of my best friends, Steph, is moving to California for 4 months. So we had dinner and then she had a little get-together with her friends. We had some yummy treats (What Andrus party doesn’t have good food). Logan and I are going to go and visit her this summer though so that should be fun! I will miss her until then though!

Old Friends

This was another eventful weekend although it has been a lot more relaxed than last weekend. The highlights… We celebrated uncle Matt’s birthday at the Spaghetti Factory, had two softball games, and I had a bridal shower for a high school friend, Bullough. That was by far the greatest highlight of the week. It’s always fun getting together with old friends and reminiscing over the good old days when we were carefree and skinny. We spent hours talking about the funny things we did in high school and had many instances of that gut wrenching painful laugh because you can’t stop. It was so nice celebrating Bullough and spending time with her. Thanks girls for all that were there! It was a night to remember!

My crazy week!

I haven’t posted for about a week because I have been crazy busy! The Sunday after showcase we took a ride up to see the billy goats. We borrowed Daddio’s scope so we could see them better. This is a Sunday outing Bry did growing up, so we do it every now and then. On Monday we went to dinner for 3 of my best friend’s birthdays. We went to Zuppas! So yummy. Love you guys! I had my banquet on Thursday which was really special- a great ending to a great year. After banquet we drove to St.George and arrived at 1:00am on Friday because I had to judge down there on Friday and Saturday. I then judged for 17 hours on Friday and Saturday and we drove home Sunday.

There is the down low of my crazy week. Now the fun stories… When we were in St. George Logan was in the garage and found some screw drivers on his own. He picked them up and found a tiny little screw on the garage door sensor. He proceeded to try and be like daddy and fix the garage door. It was so cute… we didn’t entice him to do this at all. He has just seen daddy do it and surprised us all with his mad contracting skills. Last cute story… when I was judging Bryan took Logan out to dinner at The Pizza Factory. After they ate he got a sucker for himself and Logan to share. He gave it to Logan and then never got it back. He was a sticky mess after but he was not going to let go of that sucker if his life depended on it. I love my little guy.

Showcase is over

Showcase is over and I am filled with mixed emotions. It was hard saying goodbye to my team and to all the parents that I have been blessed to know over the past 5 years. I still have banquet this week, but my time at Brighton is almost over. At showcase my dancers did a great job and it was fun to sit back and watch them one last time. This was a great team this year so it was really hard; we had many tearful goodbyes. Thank you to all that came and supported me at my showcase. It meant a lot to see you there! I will post a few pictures from showcase in a couple days.

B. Best Friends? Bryan is my best friend! I am also still best friends with Jessica, Amber, Syd, Kristen and Kristie from high school!

We had a great Easter this year. Logan is at a fun age where he loved picking up everything around the yard. My aunt and uncle have a huge yard so we have a giant Easter egg hunt there every year with all the cousins. It’s a great tradition. This year we also roasted peeps as part of our get-together. If you haven’t tried doing this you need to. So Yummy!

Best Recipe Ever from my neighborhood recipe exchange

We do this recipe exchange in our new neighborhood! It is so much fun! Anyway, the first week we did it I got the best recipe; I make it all the time. I wanted to share with you guys... You should try it. It is super easy to put together and your whole family will love it. I wish I could take credit for it, but it is from a cute girl from my neighborhood. Enjoy!

Sweet Chicken Fingers

3lb Chicken Tenders
1 cup flour
1 cup cornstarch
1 tsp garlic salt
3 beaten eggs
2 tbsp oil

2 ¼ cup sugar
¾ cup water
¾ cup ketchup
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 ½ tsp salt

Dip chicken in eggs. Combine flour, cornstarch, and garlic salt in a shallow bowl. Coat chicken and fry in oil. Add additional oil if necessary. Place chicken on a large baking sheet lined with foil (use heavy duty foil if you have it). Simmer remaining ingredients in a saucepan until sugar is dissolved. Spoon sauce over chicken. Reserve leftover sauce to serve over rice. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes turning halfway through. Serve with rice.
